Ducks add starting offensive line transfer from Notre Dame

Published May. 26, 2015 4:12 p.m. ET

Oregon's offensive line is a legitimate concern heading into the 2015 season as the Ducks have lost three of their starting lineman from last years team. However, it looks like there is help along the way, by way of Notre Dame.

Matt Hegarty, a graduate transfer, has decided to call Eugene home for the 2015 season. Hegarty started 11 games for Notre Dame in 2014, mostly at center and offensive guard.

Hegarty would represent Oregon's second big graduate transfer this season, along with Eastern Washington QB Vernon Adams. It is likely that Hegarty will start for the Ducks in 2015 and he should be able to fill the void at center or left guard.

Hegarty was part of Notre Dame's 2011 recruiting class and was a four-star recruit coming out of high school.
