Ducks' football recruiting commended by Oregon high school coaches
The Oregon football program has become a powerhouse in recent years. Between the talent they've brought in, the phenomenal coaching staff and the power of Nike, the Ducks have become one of the best programs in the nation.
One thing that's undervalued; however, is the recruiting job the Oregon coaches do, specifically in the state of Oregon.
Here's what one coach had to say about Oregon's in-state recruiting efforts:
"I think Oregon does a phenomenal job. I think they do a better job than any Northwest school. Coach Petersen and his staff at Washington are closing the gap on them, but for the past 10 years, Oregon has been substantially ahead of the rest of the Northwest schools at identifying Northwest talent and of having great relationships with the local high school coaches and programs. I would say the second-closest school to Oregon in the Northwest is Eastern Washington, and you can see the success they are having. Right now, Oregon is head-and shoulders above the rest of the schools."
