Ducks recruiting in SEC country

Published May. 21, 2015 3:35 p.m. ET

The Ducks have proved over the last decade that they're capable of recruiting players from anywhere in the country. They've brought in tons of talent from Texas, Hawaii, California, Florida, Ohio and a ton of states in-between.

The 2016 recruiting class will be no different for the Ducks as they have already landed a commitment from Memphis, Tennessee in the form of WR Dillon Mitchell. The Ducks may not be done in the SEC quite yet, nor the state of Tennessee.

The Ducks coaching staff has moved on to Tennessee powerhouse Whitehaven High School, according to their head coach.

"Two coaches came by – Matt Lubick came and Scott Frost," Whitehaven coach Rodney Saulsberry Sr. said, according to Andrew Nemec of The Oregonian. "I've known Lubick for awhile. He came by earlier this semester. Obviously, they already have a kid from White Station, Dillon Mitchell."

The Ducks came back to Tennessee to look at a trio of prospects: 4-star CB Donte Vaughn, 3-star DT Michael Perry and 3-star DB Rodney Saulsberry Jr.

Oregon has yet to offer any of the three, but you can bet the Ducks will continue to scour the south for the best players in the country.
