Duke safety Deondre Singleton earned ACC Football Defensive Back of the Week after an excellent performance against Army over the weekend.

The Blue Devils moved to 3-3 on the season after earning a rainy 13-6 victory over Army. Duke senior safety Deondre Singleton starred for the Blue Devils making a number of key plays, and was named the ACC Defensive Back of the Week.

The Duke defense was phenomenal against Army led by Singleton, limiting the Black Knights to only 189 total offensive yards and 2-13 on third down conversions. The 5-11 safety recorded five tackles, one tackle for loss, a pass breakup, an interception, and a fumble recovery. His recovered fumble led to the Duke’s first touchdown on a 9-yard drive and his interception late in the fourth quarter helped sealed the victory for the Blue Devils.

Duke Football has a very short week to prepare for a conference matchup on the road against 7th-ranked Louisville on Friday night. The Blue Devils are still looking for their first ACC Football win of the season and Singleton and the defense will need to put together another huge effort to get an upset over the Cardinals.
