Duke Football Raising Support for Hurricane Victims

Published Jun. 30, 2017 6:28 p.m. ET

Duke Football recently announced that they will be collecting canned foods for victims of Hurricane Matthew damage in North Carolina.

The Blue Devils recently announced that the football program will be partnering with Harris Teeter and NC Food Banks to help collect canned food for victims of Hurricane Matthew. This is the second time this year Duke Football is helping provide aid after a natural disaster after collecting items for flood victims in Louisiana earlier this year.

The canned food drive will be part of the Big4 Million Meals to provide food to victims of the recent hurricane in the state. Donations will be taken up to Duke Football’s next home game on November 5th against Virginia Tech. Fans can donate cans at the Duke Athletics Ticket Office ahead of the game or bring items on game day to various locations before kickoff. Blue Devil fans who donate will be able to receive discount tickets for the game against the Hokies.

More information about the canned food drive and where to donate can be found here. It’s great to see the Duke Football program active in different outreach projects and community service, and we hope their efforts and fans support can help aid those who need relief after the hurricane.
