Egg Bowl will pit two teams dealing with opposite injury issues

According to Ole Miss head coach Hugh Freeze, as many as four defenders could miss the Egg Bowl for the Rebels.

Defensive lineman Fadol Brown is "doubtful" for the game. The junior defender is battling a stress fracture in his foot and failed to play against LSU. Sophomore defensive back C.J. Hampton also failed to play against LSU and will be monitored for improvement this week in practice for a possible return. True freshman Cam Ordway is ineligible to play in the first half after being ejected following the bench-clearing skirmish in the LSU game. Lastly linebacker Denzel Nkemdiche's status is still up in the air following last week's hospitalization.

Meanwhile on the other end of the spectrum, Mississippi State head coach Dan Mullen couldn't be happier about his team's health entering the week.

"I think we came out of last week's game healthier than we went into it," Mullen revealed Monday.

The Bulldogs injury report heading into the Egg Bowl has junior tight end Gus Walley as questionable. That's it for State. The battle of attrition is clearly being won by Mississippi State early in the week.
