Elite kickers set for showdown in Maryland game

Maryland and West Virginia fans have an elite position battle to look forward to in the teams' game this weekend.

No, it's not a quarterback or linebacker battle. It's a battle of the kickers. The Terps and Mountaineers feature two of college football's best, and don't be surprised to see a few 50-yarders sail through the uprights.

Josh Lambert was a finalist for the Lou Groza Award last season.

Lambert's stats weren't up to snuff last season, but his ability clearly is.

“Going into it I knew, basically, I wasn’t going to win. I had missed nine field goals,” Lambert said. “For me, it was more an experience thing, knowing what it takes to get there, seeing the type of figures that would be there.”
