Ex-Kentucky coach Rick Pitino denies flipping off UK fan and social media isn't buying it
The Louisville-Kentucky game transcends the word rivalry. And after the Wildcats edged the Cardinals 75-73 on Saturday, the contest took a back seat to whether coach Rick Pitino flipped off a Rupp Arena fan.
Here's the video that went viral almost immediately after the game of Pitino walking to the locker room after his record fell to 1-8 against Kentucky since John Calipari became Wildcats head coach in 2009.

The Cardinals coach, who was absent for postgame press conference, later said he didn't.
Pitino reportedly told ESPN.com via text message:
"No I didn't flip off the fans. I was in the tunnel. People were yelling ugly crude things that I didn't like. The 1-8 comment [Pitino's record against Kentucky coach John Calipari] was fine. But the other comments I didn't like.''
Did he? Didn't he? Of course, social media rushed to judgment.
#UK beats #UL & I gladly remind Pitino of his record vsCal @UK of 1-8 as he leaves the floor. He disapproved & flipped me the bird! #DayMade

Seeing Pitino flip off Cats fans on the way off the court is the icing on the #BBN cake
