Feldman's Heisman Top 5: 'Bama's Henry is running over anything in his path

Published Sep. 13, 2015 1:56 a.m. ET

As I said in our initial installment of the Heisman Top 5, this is going to be a very fluid situation.

1. Derrick Henry, Alabama, RB: Other running backs have gained more rushing yards than his 243, but his six TDs (including three Saturday against Middle Tennessee) stand out, as does the fact that he ran all over a formidable opponent in Week 1 (Wisconsin) that was overloading the box to try to stop him. Henry can really make a statement next week when a good Ole Miss D comes to town.

2. Leonard Fournette, LSU, RB: Delivered a terrific performance for the young Tigers in their road win over No. 25 Miss. State, rushing for 159 yards and three TDs.

3. Dalvin Cook, FSU, RB: Like with UGA's Nick Chubb, the competition hasn't been great, but the production is head-turning: 422 yards on 49 carries and five TDs.

4. Cody Kessler, USC: The Trojans have feasted on a middling Arkansas State team and just crushed an awful Idaho squad, with Kessler averaging 11.4 yards per pass attempt. On the season he's now thrown seven TDs and zero INTs while also completing 79 percent of his passes.

5. Will Fuller, Notre Dame, WR: He's got blazing speed and defenses know it, and yet he still keeps getting behind them. The 6-0, 185-pound junior made the game-winning catch in the final seconds to rally Notre Dame at Virginia. In two weeks: 12 catches, 266 yards and four TDs.
