The Michigan Wolverines got their man as Donovan Peoples-Jones made his commitment on ESPN2 on Thursday night.

Peoples-Jones (6' 2", 190 pounds) gives the Wolverines a five-star prospect, a top-five national receiver and the top recruit in their home state.

He caught 69 passes for 1,118 yards and 18 touchdowns as a junior. He followed that up with 52 receptions for 1,007 yards and 17 touchdowns as a senior. An outstanding athlete, he recorded a 4.42 40-yard dash and a 42.4-inch vertical jump during the NIKE Opening Finals his junior season, which made him the first underclassman to win the ratings championship at that event.

Peoples-Jones chose Michigan over Florida State, Ohio State, Michigan State and Florida, but held offers from many other programs.

Away from football, Peoples-Jones carries a 3.9 GPA and hopes to be an orthopedic surgeon.

He gives the Wolverines commitments from the top three prospects in the state along with Detroit King cornerback Ambry Thomas and Orchard Lake St. Mary's linebacker Josh Ross.

Peoples-Jones will enroll next semester, begin classes and take part in spring football.
