Florida Comes to Arkansas With More To Play For
As we all know, the SEC East is full of some really bad teams but as it stands, Florida is the best of the bad. The Gators are coming to Fayetteville to continue their road to Atlanta for the SEC Championship.
Although Florida is only favored by 3.5 points over the Hogs, the Gators have a lot more on the line to play for. The news is all about how Kentucky can take the East and play Bama in the SEC championship but that’s not what the Gators have in mind.
Florida is currently 6-1 overall and 4-1 in the league. Their only loss came due to a defensive meltdown to Tennessee. If Florida can hold on and win out, they could be in position for bigger postseason aspirations with a run at the national championship.
It’s a long road to the playoffs but Florida’s path runs right through Fayetteville. That’s exactly what coach Jim McElwain is preaching. McElwain is going to have his Gators hyped to beat Arkansas by selling them a chance to play Bama in Atlanta.
Arkansas, who is 1-3 in conference, is just trying to salvage their season at this point. The Hogs look to bounce back from a crushing 56-3 loss to Auburn. The bye week couldn’t have come at a better time for the Hogs. Key players, including quarterback Austin Allen, have been pretty banged up during the season.
The FPI gives Florida a 65.2 percent chance to beat Arkansas. The Gators defense is as talented as any the Hogs have faced yet. If Arkansas wants to have any chance of upsetting the Gator’s hopes, it has to start at the offensive line. If Austin Allen is taking hits like he has been this season, you can expect Florida to snag the win on the road. Woo Pig!
