Florida vs. LSU Game Rescheduled for Nov. 19 in Baton Rouge

Published Jun. 30, 2017 6:28 p.m. ET

The SEC announced late Thursday that LSU and Florida WILL play after all on November 19 in Baton Rouge.

After a full week of LSU and Florida Twitter and Athletic Director banter, a decision has been made. The two teams along with the SEC came to an agreement on where and when to make up the game originally scheduled for October 8th.

The Florida Gators will travel to Baton Rouge to play LSU on Nov. 19, and the Tigers will make back-to-back trips to Gainesville in 2017 and 2018 to make up for the cancelled game due to Hurricane Matthew.

I guess the Gators weren’t scared after all, huh, Clay Travis?

SEC commissioner Greg Sankey announced the agreement Thursday afternoon.

The banter had parties on both sides worried considering if Florida and LSU didn’t work out a make up date, both sides would be considered ineligible for competing in the SEC Championship. However, it has been well documented that LSU was completely against playing Florida in any way, shape or form.

LSU AD Joe Alleva, told reporters on Monday:

“One thing we’re going to hold very firm on is that we have a home game on November 19, and we’re going to have a home game on November 19.”

Everyone can stop wondering when the game is going to be played because now we know.

All we can do now is mark our calendars and wait.
