Florida will be well represented at 2016 NFL Draft Combine

Published Feb. 11, 2016 6:53 p.m. ET

On Thursday, it was announced that eight former Florida players will make their way to the 2016 NFL Draft Combine in Indianapolis.

Leading the charge is Vernon Hargreaves III. Barring something unforeseen, the corner figures to be off the board within the first half of the first round.

The other potential player within the group sniffing first-round contention would be defensive lineman Jonathan Bullard. If Bullard can put together an impressive showing, it just may do enough to vault him into the the precious first-round territory.

Five of the eight Gators (Hargreaves III, Kelvin Taylor, Demarcus Robinson, Keanu Neal, Alex McCalister) are underclassmen.

Interestingly enough, only Ohio State (14), Notre Dame (10), and UCLA/Alabama (9) had more players invited to the combine.

Although head coach Jim McElwain didn't recruit any of those players, this is a statistic which can be used in the realm of recruiting. McElwain can point to the fact recruits will garner exposure and development at Florida.
