Former Cyclone Jarvis West continues football career in CFL

Former Iowa State wide receiver and return man Jarvis West may have been passed up by all 32 NFL teams, but he's garnered interest from a team up north.

According to the official website for the Toronto Argonauts, the Canadian Football League team signed West on Wednesday.

The 5-foot-7, 170-pound receiver/return man from St. Petersburg, Fla., tallied over 1,400 returning yards in his four years at Iowa State, and will likely be predominantly used in that capacity at the professional level.

The Argonauts simultaneously released former Iowa State defensive back David Sims, who signed with the team in December after a few years in the NFL, as they added West.

West won't be the only former Cyclone on the Argonauts if he makes the roster, though, as former ISU defensive lineman Cleyon Laing has been playing with the team since 2013.

If he makes the team, West will begin playing with the Argonauts this summer.
