Former Iowa QB not taking anything for granted at Michigan

Shane Morris has said he feels like the Michigan quarterback job is his to lose.

That only makes sense because he was declared the No. 1 guy after spring practice, but he is no longer the most-experienced quarterback on the roster as the Wolverines work through preseason practice in Ann Arbor.

That distinction now belongs to Jake Rudock, who threw for 4,819 yards and 34 touchdowns in 25 games at Iowa before joining the Michigan program as a graduate transfer during the summer.

Despite his edge in playing time, Rudock told The Toledo Blade he is not taking anything for granted.

“I didn’t come here assuming I was going to get a job,” Rudock said. “That’s college football. You can’t assume anything. You have to go there and work for it, and that’s a big Coach Harbaugh thing, is going out there every day and proving yourself and working hard for it.”
