Former Syracuse QB finds a new home
Former Syracuse quarterback A.J. Long, who was medically disqualified from playing football early in the 2015 season, has found a new home.
The 6-0, 181-pound sophomore signal-caller took to Instagram over the weekend to let everyone know will be playing at Wagner College next season. Wagner is an FCS school, which means he will be eligible to play right away.
In 2014, Long started five games as a true freshman and threw for 935 yards and four touchdowns. Long sustained a season-ending Achilles injury at in the 2015 opener.
In October of 2015, Syracuse announced that it reviewed Long’s concussion history and ruled that he would not be able to play football any longer for the Orange, despite the fact that there was no public records of the quarterback sustaining a concussion at Syracuse. However, there was a report that stated Long suffered three concussions during his senior year at high school, according to a report by NBC Sports.
