FSU Alumni: Xavier Rhodes Honors Kidz1st Fund With Special Cleats
Former FSU football star Xavier Rhodes wore special cleats Thursday with a design to honor the charity started by head coach Jimbo Fisher.
Don’t look now, but the NFL is actually doing something fun this weekend with its players and their wardrobe. The league is allowing players to wear personalized cleats with whatever specific charity the player wants to honor. For one former FSU star, that meant one close to the heart of his alma mater and its head coach.
Minnesota Vikings defensive back Xavier Rhodes took to Twitter to showcase his cleats for Thursday’s game with the Dallas Cowboys – ones that showcased the Kidz1st Fund started by FSU head coach Jimbo Fisher to help find a cure for Fanconi Anemia:

The disease is close to the FSU family’s heart since Fisher and his ex-wife, Candi, started the fun after their youngest son Ethan was diagnosed with the disease as a small child. One of the places where the most research is being done to help prolong the lives of those with the illness and help find a cure is being done at the University of Minnesota.
Fisher’s foundation tweeted a response of thanks for giving the foundation more national love during the game televised nationally by NBC:
Xavier, we can't thank you enough for your dedication to Kidz1stFund.This is amazing. We are beyond thankful to have you on our side #Honored https://t.co/29AElD7jcU

Since the foundation started, money raised has helped researchers find ways to add an additional 11 years to the life expectancy of anyone suffering from it. If you would like more information or would like to donate, you can do so by clicking on this link.
