South Carolina's new coaching staff continues to excel on the recruiting trail, this time it's Florida tight end Evan Hinson committing to Will Muschamp's Gamecock staff. Hinson has over 15 scholarship offers and picked USC over Southern Cal, Florida, Michigan and Miami among others.

The 6-foot-5, 215-pound Hinson is an intriguing prospect who could potentially pursue a career in college basketball, as he's a gifted basketball prospect as well. Hinson is rated as a three-star prospect by 247Sports and was recruited to Columbia by defensive coordinator Travaris Robinson.

Barton Simmons of 247Sports considers Hinson "one of the biggest steals of the class" and compares him to NFL great tight ends Tony Gonzalez, Jimmy Graham and Antonio Gates with a basketball history. If Hinson can reach anywhere near the heights of those players South Carolina fans should be overjoyed to have landed his commitment this week.

With Hinson's commitment, the Gamecocks are now up to 24 total prospects slated to join the team in Muschamp's first recruiting class of his South Carolina career.
