Georgia's trip to Auburn got a little more interesting this week, as both teams will enter the game coming off conference wins. As has been the case nearly all season long, the big question heading into the game for the Bulldogs will be who is playing quarterback and how effective can they be?
According to the Athens-Banner Herald, Will Muschamp and the Tiger defense can expect two players to get snaps under center in this game.
“We’ll go into this week thinking we’ll play Greyson and Brice again,” Richt said Sunday.
Both Greyson Lambert and Brice Ramsey played against Kentucky and have rotated in and out of the lineup for much of the season. The lone exception came against Florida when Faton Bauta started and took every snap at quarterback in a 27-3 loss.
“If we were having success we were just going to kind of keep with whoever was in there,” Richt said. “It wasn’t so much a hot hand, but just the continuity of how things were going. That was really the main thing.”
Georgia aided its struggling offense against Kentucky by putting freshman receiver Terry Godwin in as a Wildcat quarterback, a package referred to as "Wild Dawg" in Athens, something which is likely to continue this week according to Richt.
“I think we’ll have an element of the 'Wild Dawg' in there,” Richt said. “Terry doing it a little bit. (running back) Sony (Michel) doing it a little bit.”
The Tigers defense had one of its more impressive performances last week, holding Texas A&M to 10 points, three turnover and only 303 yards of total offense at home in front of the College Station crowd.
If the Bulldogs can't get a solid performance from any of its quarterbacks this weekend, the Auburn defense may have its best two-week performance of the season heading into the Iron Bowl.
