Has a decision to fire Cam Cameron already been made?
While reports indicate LSU head coach Les Miles may be feeling some serious heat as the season comes to a close, in all likelihood, the Mad Hatter will be returning for his 12th season on the LSU sideline.
However the same cannot be said for offensive coordinator Cam Cameron, according to one person close to the LSU program.
While a guest on the Out of Bounds ESPN the Zone 105.9 show, LSU insider Mike Detillier had some bold words on the future of the much-maligned Cameron.
“This is one of the few times I’ve heard Les (Miles) continually talk about play call," Detillier said. "That draws up a red flag to me, it would be a long shot for Les to get fired but Cam Cameron I think is on the hottest of seats… (Miles) constant comments about ‘Our play calling needs to get better,’ is an indication Cam Cameron is in a lot a lot of trouble here in Baton Rouge… I do believe that there is something there kinda behind the scenes that’s not worked right and I’m convinced that Cam Cameron will not be back at LSU in 2016."
LSU currently has the 115th ranked passing offense in the country, up from its 116th rank from last season. With the offensive talent currently on the Tigers roster, results like that will likely result in changes to the coaching staff this offseason for LSU.
