Has Daryl Worley played his final game at West Virginia?

Published Jan. 1, 2016 11:50 a.m. ET

All-Big 12 cornerback Daryl Worley will not play in Saturday night's Cactus Bowl for academic reasons, and it's very possible that he will never play for the Mountaineers again.

Worley, a junior, has a good chance at being selected in the 2016 NFL Draft. He's not thought of as an elite prospect, but would seem like a good bet to be taken on the second or third day of the draft.

With that said, Dana Holgorsen thinks Worley should return for his senior year.

"We did a big report and the report came back that he should stay in school," Holgorsen said. "The ball's in his court. He knows how much we want him here."

We'll see if Worley's academic suspension affects his decision to turn pro or not.
