Has UCLA seen the end of the Myles Jack era?

Published Sep. 23, 2015 1:26 p.m. ET

With news reported that UCLA star linebacker Myles Jack is lost for the season due to injury, the speculation begins: will he play for UCLA again?

Jack joins defensive lineman Eddie Vanderdoes and defensive back Fabian Moreau on UCLA's out-for-season list. All three were considered potential first round picks, though Jack has had the biggest impact for the Bruins' so far this season.

According to Ryan Kartje of the OC Register, Jack purchased a $5 million insurance policy "to protect against injury" over a year ago. Does this indicate a likely end of an era for UCLA? Karjte speculates such.

If Jack decides to forego his senior season for UCLA and enter the NFL draft after recovering from his reported knee injury this season, his last moments for UCLA would be significant: he picked off BYU's quarterback Tanner Mangum to secure a huge home victory for the Bruins.
