How 400-pound LaQuan McGowan will scare the dickens out of defenders

How will Baylor Bears coach Art Briles use 400-pound tight end LaQuan McGowan?

Let us count the ways. And each one should scare the dickens out of the poor defensive backs tasked with bringing the big man down.

First picture McGowan as a run blocker. Care to get in the way? Then see him as a brick wall in pass protection. Think you can overpower him? And as Michigan State saw in the Cotton Bowl, when the time is right, he'll pick a pass out of the air with his giant mitts and rumble, rumble, rumble all the way to the end zone.

What first might have seemed like a publicity stunt by Briles or little more than a trick play to pull out of the hat every now and then, McGowan as an integral part of the Bears' offense is very real.

And that should scare the heck out of every 180-pound defensive back in the Big 12.
