Huskers DT Collins listed as top 50 player in CFB

College football writers and fans around the country are getting their fill of player and team rankings as the countdown to the season draws nearer.

Athlon Sports released their top 50 players in college football list on Wednesday and Husker fans will be happy to know that defensive tackle Maliek Collins checked in right at 50:

"In his first full season as a starter, Collins was a force on the interior for the Cornhuskers. He recorded 14 tackles for a loss, 4.5 sacks and 13 quarterback hurries in 13 games."

If Collins lives up to the preseason hype, he will be a househould name by bowl season.
