Illinois Football: Reggie Roberson Would Be Dangerous For the Illini
As the Illinois football team tries to navigate their way through the 2016 season, they are still focusing on the class of 2017.
Right now, the Illinois Fighting Illini currently has 11 players committed for 2017. This group includes a 4-star wide receiver in Carmoni Green.
The Illini aren’t even close to being done with recruiting. They are currently after 6-foot, 180-pound, wide receiver Reggie Roberson.
Roberson took to Twitter yesterday to announce that he will be visiting the Illini on one of his official visits.

This visit will come on the weekend of October 7-9. Snagging Roberson would be a nice pickup for the Illinois football team.
Roberson is currently listed as a 3-star wide receiver who is the No. 709 player in the class of 2017 and the No. 97 player in the state of Texas.
The one caveat to the recruitment is that Roberson has already committed to Kansas to play football. But, there is a long ways until National Signing Day so I wouldn’t be surprised if Lovie can flip him.
More from Writing Illini
If Illinois can snag Roberson, he would make for the fourth wide receiver to commit to the Illini for 2017. This is turning out to be a great offensive class for the Illini.
I love Roberson’s game and what he could bring to the Illinois football team. He would be a playmaker that the Illini have been missing for a while.
It looks like Roberson plays a lot of slot receiver in high school. This makes him the most dangerous player on the field.
Roberson runs crisp routes and when he catches the ball he is extremely hard to tackle because of his speed.
The comparable I have to the NFL is Brandin Cooks.
While Cooks is a little shorter than Roberson he has the same type of game. Both are in the slot a lot and both are as quick as you can get.
If Illinois can get Roberson to flip on the official visit weekend then they would be getting a special player.
The Illini offense could be very dangerous starting in 2017 and beyond. Lovie is building something special and We Will Win.
