Illinois State to host six in 2016

Updated Mar. 4, 2020 7:19 p.m. ET

(STATS) - The winning streak at Hancock Stadium is over, but Illinois State football is preparing to start a new one with six home games in its 2016 schedule announced Thursday.

The No. 5 Redbirds went 10-3 this past season, winning a share of the Missouri Valley Football Conference and reaching the FCS quarterfinals before losing to Richmond, which stopped their 19-game home winning streak.

Coach Brock Spack will hope for another banner season as the Redbirds seek to replace their dynamic offensive duo of quarterback Tre Roberson and running back Marshaun Coprich.

They will host Valparaiso (Sept. 3) and Eastern Illinois (Sept. 17) in non-conference action and Missouri Valley members Youngstown State (Oct. 8), Southern Illinois (Oct. 15), South Dakota State (Oct. 29) and Missouri State (Oct. 12).
