Is it too early to begin Rose Bowl predictions for UCLA?

Published Sep. 10, 2015 1:59 p.m. ET

The 2015 College Football season is still in its infancy, but some writers are already making their "way too early" postseason predictions.

Mark Schlabach and Brett McMurphy from ESPN recently shared their latest bowl projections. They offer interesting analysis, including one expert even leaving defending champion Ohio State out of the College Football Playoff. Schlabach also offers some surprising thoughts, like entirely excluding the Pac-12 from the CFP.

Perhaps the most interesting prediction, however, was Schlabach's Rose Bowl projection: Michigan State vs. UCLA.

While the Rose Bowl is not a part of the CFP this season, a trip to the Granddaddy of Them All would still be an incredible achievement for UCLA.

The Bruins play home games at the Rose Bowl, but have not made a postseason Rose Bowl Game since 1999. The Bruins last won the Rose Bowl in 1986.
