Is stable culture the key to Iowa's hot start?

Oftentimes, Kirk Ferentz is a lightning rod for criticism for his coaching record as it relates to his contract.

However the argument could be made that stability is helping the Hawkeyes get off to a fast start as they seek their first undefeated non-conference slate since 2009.

Head coach Kirk Ferentz believes the stable environment has helped the team:

"That's part of the Iowa culture," Ferentz said. They just don't torch-and-burn any time there's a bump in the road. They stick with it and let you run the race. I always marvel at why people in the NFL haven't figured that out. Nobody's been more successful than the Steelers. It's about putting together a great staff of coaches."

There is a lot of season left so time will tell if the approach truly works out for Iowa. As long as the team is winning though, fans will be quite happy with everything.
