J.T. Barrett made school history as Ohio State put up 77 points
J.T. Barrett couldn’t have gotten off to a worse start Saturday. And he couldn’t have finished stronger.
Barrett tossed a pick six on Ohio State’s opening drive, watching as Bowling Green’s Brandon Harris scampered 63 yards for the score.
And then Barrett resembled the Heisman Trophy contender he was in 2014 -- and could be again this season. Barrett threw a Buckeyes-record six TD passes and rushed for another in the lopsided 77-10 win on Saturday, setting a school record with seven TDs.

Barrett completed 21 of his 39 pass attempts for a career-best 349 yards, and he ran for 30 yards. He spread the wealth as five Buckeyes caught TDs and eight Buckeyes scored overall. Ohio State’s 776 yards of offense also were a school record. Barrett now has two games in his career with six passing touchdowns. All other quarterbacks in school history have combined for one (Kenny Guiton in 2013).
