Jackson State to kick off 2018 at Southern Miss

(STATS) - Jackson State has set an attractive schedule as it seeks to rise in the SWAC this season.

The Tigers, coming off a second straight 3-8 season under coach Tony Hughes, will open the campaign on Sept. 1 at Southern Miss - their third all-time meeting against the FBS program.

Also included on the 11-game schedule are the Southern Heritage Classic against Tennessee State on Sept. 8 in Memphis and four home games at Mississippi Veterans Memorial Stadium: Alabama A&M (Sept. 29), Mississippi Valley State (Oct. 13, Homecoming), North Alabama (Oct. 20) and Prairie View A&M (Nov. 3).
