Jameis Winston rolls out the red carpet at his own draft party
Jameis Winston is not in Chicago for the NFL Draft, but he decided to bring the hoopla with him to Alabama.
Winston, the No. 1 overall pick by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, turned his draft party into a full-fledged celebrity event, complete with a Hollywood-style red carpet and massive-sized photo of him.

Winston and Marcus Mariota made headlines for skipping the draft to be with family (and were criticized as a result), but there’s a big difference between wanting to spend an intimate time with those closest to you and turning your family celebration into a big-time party. This makes me believe that Winston not being present at the draft wasn’t really so much about wanting to be with his grandma as it was about avoiding the negative attention/being booed because of his run-ins with the law.
