James Madison rolls over William & Mary 51-0.
HARRISONBURG, Va. (AP) — Ben Dinucci threw two touchdown passes, Jimmy Moreland scored the fifth defensive touchdown of his career and James Madison ran its home winning streak to 18 games with a 51-0 win over William & Mary on Saturday.
The Dukes (3-1) also won their 18th straight conference game in the Colonial Athletic Association opener. The Tribe (1-2), the second team JMU shut out this season, was held to 132 yards and had four turnovers.
Dinucci was 17 of 23 for 160 yards with a 5-yard scoring pass to Dylan Stapleton and an 11-yarder to Riley Stapleton, Dylan's brother. A minute after the second Stapleton touchdown, Moreland picked off the 16th pass of his career and took it 56 yards to make the score 31-0 early in the third quarter. Moreland, who holds the school record for picks, now has 218 return yards after his interceptions, 12 yards shy of second in school history. Bryce Maginley capped the scoring with a 24-yard interception return, the first pick of his career.
James Madison, the second-ranked team in the FCS coaches poll, had 444 yards, 247 on the ground and built a 24-7 advantage in first downs.
William & Mary's conference game with Elon which was postponed last week because of Hurricane Florence will not be played.
