Jason Spriggs did something no Indiana O-lineman had in nearly 50 years

Indiana football placed a Hoosier on the Football Writers Association of America's All-America first team for the second year in a row. This time it is left tackle Jason Spriggs, who follows 2014 honoree Tevin Coleman.

Two different Hoosiers had never been named first-team FWAA All-Americans in consecutive years before, though running back Anthony Thompson won back-to-back honors in 1988 and '89.

Spriggs is the first Indiana offensive lineman to make the FWAA's first team since Gary Cassells in 1967.

Spriggs previously received All-America recognition from the Walter Camp Football Foundation and the Associated Press.

Fellow lineman Dan Feeney was also recognized by the AP.

They are part of a line that allowed 13 sacks in the regular season, best in the Big Ten and ninth nationally.
