Jim Harbaugh has special gift (and handshake?) for Derek Jeter at Michigan game

Among the guests at Michigan's home game against BYU on Saturday was one of the Wolverine State's most famous sons: Derek Jeter.

The former Yankees shortstop (and noted Michigan fan, who also attended the school briefly) was spotted chatting with Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh before the game Saturday morning.

Harbaugh also presented him with a personalized No. 2 blue jersey with "Jeter" on the back.

After graduating from high school in Kalamazoo, Mich., Jeter planned to study medicine. Plan B worked out well for the future Hall of Fame shortstop.

The Yankees drafted him with the No. 6 pick overall in the 1992 amateur draft and signed him that year with a $700,000 bonus and paid him a total of $266 million. The five-time World Series champion retired last year with 3,465 hits to rank sixth on the all-time list.

Meanwhile, The Big Lead noticed something else about their encounter: Harbaugh coughing into his hand before shaking Jeter's.
