Joe Wickline moves on from Texas to WVU as OC

Joe Wickline had a tumultuous tenure at Texas, and that ended about a month ago. But Wickline will get another shot at a big 12 school.

Wickline recently landed the West Virginia offensive coaching gig and will work under head coach Dana Holgorsen. Wendell Smallwood will enter the NFL Draft, but Skyler Howard and a host of targets will return. Wickline will certainly have talent to work with.

“Joe brings a wealth of experience, and his resume speaks volumes of his ability to build top offensive lines, as well as being a prominent voice in developing offensive units,” Holgorsen said. “We were on staff together at Oklahoma State in 2010, and he brings an excellent familiarity of the Big 12 Conference. I am excited to add him to our staff and welcome him and his family to West Virginia University.”

Reports indicate that Holgorsen will likely continue to call plays.
