Johnny Manziel posts an apology to Texas A&M: 'I'm truly sorry'

Johnny Manziel's offseason since getting released by the Cleveland Browns in March has been a series of disturbing updates, culminating with his father recently calling him a "druggie" and saying the best possible outcome for his health might be if he ends up in jail.

In the past week, Manziel has gone more public seemingly in an attempt to show people that he's doing better than most assume. Manziel released this statement the other day to The Washington Post:

"I'm actually doing well. I have good friends around me supporting what I do and I try to support them in what they want to do. I'm not saying I'm never drinking again, but for now just mostly being healthy. I've got a killer gym in my house and I can spend time working out. I'm interested in doing a lot of different things in my life --€” including football -- but, right now, I'm just exploring options and waiting to see what the future holds."

He then posted this update to Instagram:

And then Manziel showed some remorse on Twitter for the ugly attention he's brought to his former college team, Texas A&M, by apologizing to Aggie fans and saying he wants to "make it right."

Manziel was responding to this highlight clip a Texas A&M site tweeted out.

It's difficult to know how Manziel is truly doing -- him saying he's not necessarily going to stop drinking is unsettling -- but hopefully these are the first signs of some positive developments for him.
