Keyshawn Johnson Jr. has a famous name and the opportunity to take his talents to a school that can claim the same.

He is set to make his verbal commitment in March with Alabama, Clemson, Nebraska, Ohio State and USC as his finalists per Scout.com

That is an interesting five to say the least as it includes his father's alma mater, the two teams that played in the most recent national championship game and traditional powerhouses from the middle of the country.

If OSU and Nebraska look like outliers, they should not.

Johnson's cousin, Michael Thomas, just finished a standout career at Ohio State and Nebraska has a history of recruiting the state of California well.

In his first year as head coach of the Cornhuskers, Mike Riley signed four players from the Golden State, a group including Calabasas High School teammate Marquel Dismuke, a four-star safety.

Listed 6-foot-1, 195 pounds, the younger Johnson does not have the size of his famous father yet, but he is consider the No. 5 receiver in his home state and No. 19 nationally by Scout.

Keyshawn Johnson Sr. was the No. 1 pick in the 1996 NFL draft after a standout career at USC.

He made three Pro Bowls and caught 814 passes for 10,571 yards and 64 touchdowns in his NFL career playing for the Jets, Buccaneers, Cowboys and Panthers.
