K-State might play three quarterbacks Saturday

Published Sep. 2, 2015 11:33 a.m. ET

Kansas State named Jesse Ertz as the starter Saturday against South Dakota, but according to coach Bill Snyder, there's a chance Joe Hubener and Alex Delton will play as well.

Hubener, a junior, was the backup last season to Jake Waters. Delton is a freshman and Ertz beat them both out for the starting spot. Jonathan Banks, a junior college transfer, finished fourth in the quarterback race. He will redshirt this season.

“There is a strong possibility that they will have that opportunity,” K-State football coach Bill Snyder said to The Wichita Eagle. “But not because of what you anticipate a score to be. That is not the way we are approaching it. We have certain things we want them to be able to do and we will try to give them the opportunity to do that.”
