Kentucky ready for a monster recruiting weekend versus Florida
The contest versus Florida on Saturday is arguably the biggest game in the Mark Stoops-era. Kentucky hasn't beaten Florida since 1986. Yes, that's not a typo.
For the first time in recent memory, there's tangible excitement surround the UK program. Stoops has steadily improved the team in his first two years as the head coach, and the squad looks primed for its first bowl appearance since the 2010 season.
In terms of this matchup, Kentucky appears talented enough to not only play the Gators competitively, but also good enough to beat them.
Much of this stems from Stoops' ability to recruit at a high level. On Saturday, 20 of Kentucky's 22 commitments for the 2016 class will be at the game (per Ben Roberts of KentuckySports.com).
It's quite astounding how a vast majority of the class will all be present at one spot. According to Scout.com, Kentucky currently has the No. 21 recruiting class in the country.
The lifeblood of any program is recruiting. While the "x's and o's" are important, one also needs the "Jimmy's and the Joe's" to win ballgames.
It appears as if Stoops and his staff are putting this premise into motion.
