Kevin Hogan's legs scare Oregon just as much as his arm

Stanford QB Kevin Hogan has been lethal through the air this season; however, he's done just as much damage on the ground. Just ask Washington State.

When asked about Hogan's running abilities and the perception that he's not a dual-threat QB, Oregon linebacker Rodney Hardrick said that the naysayers should go watch some tape on Hogan.

"Tell them to watch the Washington State game," said, per The Oregonian. "He does a good job."

In Stanford's 30-28 win against the Cougars, Hogan rushed for a career-high 112 yards, including a key 59-yard touchdown run in the third quarter.

"They have some more designed runs for him and he's more likely to run this year than he was last year," Hardrick said. "We're ready for all different types of quarterbacks in the Pac-12 and we'll treat them the same."

Hogan's 51 carries this season is well below the 91 rushed he had in 2014. However, he's been more efficient. He's averaging 4.4 yards per carry, more than a yard better than last season.

"(Hogan) is doing a tremendous job this year," Pellum said. "He is escaping the pass rush and using his legs to extend plays and then he can really run the ball. There are designed runs where the takes off and he is going the distance."
