Kevin Sumlin confirms WR Speedy Noil's bowl suspension

Published Dec. 29, 2015 4:47 p.m. ET

The Music City Bowl suspension of Texas A&M wide receiver Speedy Noil was originally reported Dec. 16 but had not been confirmed until Tuesday, as Aggie head coach Kevin Sumlin verified the sophomore's suspension.

The suspended receiver has been practicing with the team as usual, which lead to some confusion on his status for the bowl game. The suspension is not Noil's first of the season, as he was also sat Nov. 14 against Western Carolina for a violation of team rules.

Noil suffered a sophomore slump in 2015, as the receiver was not immune to A&M struggles on offense. Noil caught only 21 passes for 226 yards and two touchdowns after catching 46 balls for 583 yards and five touchdowns during his freshman campaign.
