Lambert, in a new uniform, to get his second crack at the Yellow Jackets

While starting for the Bulldogs may be a new proposition for Greyson Lambert, starting against the Yellow Jackets is something the former Virginia transfer quarterback knows well.

Virginia lead by a starting Lambert, fell to Georgia Tech 35-10 last season. Thankfully for Lambert, this isn't the same Tech team and his teammates around him are much better than the 5-7 Virginia team of 2014.

Does Lambert feel like his previous experience will help this week in his preparation for the Yellow Jackets?

“I would say it just helps in all aspects, whether that's going to a familiar stadium, playing against a familiar team where for three years I played against them,” Lambert said. “ It's not a team that I can say I've never seen or never experienced what they're about. I'm very familiar.”

Lambert even went back to the tape of last season's game to help prepare for this weekend's game.

“It was up and down,” Lambert said. “They got up on us fast. Whenever a team like that gets out on your fast, it's hard because they keep the ball for so long. I think we got to a point where it was like 14-7 and we were driving. We had to settle for three instead of a touchdown. They got up on us again 21-10.”

This season, there's much more at stake for both Lambert and the Bulldogs against in-state Tech. If UGA drops the second game in the series for the first time in Mark Richt's 15-year tenure, the Bulldogs will likely be searching for a new coach this holiday season.
