Scout.com provides the latest updates in the world of ACC recruiting.

Prospect of the Week: Hendon Hooker

Greensboro (N.C.) Dudley quarterback and Virginia Tech commit Hendon Hooker had a monster game Friday. Hooker threw for 274 yards and two touchdowns and rushed 176 yards and three more scores in his team's 54–30 third-round playoff win over Davie. On the season, the 6' 4", 198-pound Hooker has thrown for nearly 2,300 yards and 24 touchdowns. He completed 61 percent of his passes, and rushed for 1,101 yards and 23 more scores. Hooker is set to enroll in January.

Visit of the Week: Devon Hunter

For the second straight week, the nation's top-ranked safety, Devon Hunter, fills this space. He will make his college commitment in less than three weeks, and the Chesapeake (Va.) Indian River standout is still considering Alabama, Auburn, Florida, North Carolina and Virginia Tech.

Hunter took an official visit to North Carolina last weekend and the trip went well. Over the next few days, he is expected to have in-home visits with the Tar Heels, Alabama, Auburn and Virginia Tech. Hunter will then head to Virginia Tech this weekend for an official visit. It will be Hunter's final trip before he makes his decision on Christmas Eve. Can the Hokies seal the deal? Or will Hunter leave Virginia to play in college?

Prospect on the Rise: Bobby Roundtree

Bobby Roundtree, a defensive end from Largo (Fla.) High, makes this list because schools are really intensifying its recruitment. He made official visits to NC State and Illinois, and right now he is calling them his leaders. However, he is trying to set trips to Louisville, which is a very hot program with Florida recruits, and Indiana. There is also a chance Michigan State or Minnesota could get a visit.

One thing to watch, though, is how many defensive end commits Louisville get. Will it have room for Roundtree if he waits until late January?

Underclassman of the Week: Devin Leary

Class of 2018 quarterback Devin Leary led Erial (N.J.) Timber Creek to another South Jersey Group IV title, and he was very impressive in it. He overcame a shakey opening and went 23-for-34 for 357 yards, three touchdowns and an interception. He finished the season 198-for-361 for a South Jersey record 3,688 yards. More incredible, he threw 48 touchdowns against four interceptions.

Expect Leary's recruitment to pick up markedly, but North Carolina is already showing a lot of interest. His offer list already includes Syracuse, Wake Forest and Boston College as well as Rutgers, West Virginia and Maryland.

Commitment Watch: Xach Gill

Wake Forest (N.C.) defensive tackle Xach Gill is down to North Carolina and Virginia Tech. Gill took an official visit to Chapel Hill last month and will head to Virginia Tech this weekend. North Carolina seems to have a slight edge, but could the trip to Blacksburg sway Gill? The South's No. 20 defensive tackle will make his commitment Dec. 12.
