Leonard Fournette scores 5 TDs in LSU's Texas Bowl win

Published Dec. 30, 2015 11:03 a.m. ET

Leonard Fournette's five touchdowns in the Texas Bowl were impressive, but far from unexpected given LSU's competition. Texas Tech was second to last in FBS this season in stopping the run, and at times on Tuesday night, it felt like Fournette could have scored 10 TDs had the coaching staff really wanted him to.

"We'd expect him to have nights like this," Les Miles said of Fournette, according to the Advocate. "He's fast and strong and capable."

Kliff Kingsbury saw some positives in his team this season, but Tech's setback against LSU only re-inforced what his squad needs to work on this offseason.

"It was a big improvement from the year before," Kinsburgy said, according to RedRaiders.com. "Offensively, we set a school record for most points, so we're heading in the right direction there. Defensively, we've got to get a lot better."
