Likely NFL destinations for former Ole Miss standouts
Ole Miss had the nation's number one scoring defense in the country last season after surrendering only 16 points per game in 2014. The Rebels lose a few key contributors from that unit, but Ole Miss' loss is the NFL's gain as the 2015 draft is finally here.
Local reporters from the Clarion Ledger gave their take on where the former Rebel standouts could land.
Cody Prewitt
The anchor of the secondary the past two seasons, Prewitt was named All-American in each of the last two seasons. Prewitt not only helped turn around the culture in Oxford, he brings a level of energy and intensity to every game by delivering big time hits time and again.
Prewitt's three ideal NFL destinations: Carolina Panthers, Seattle Seahawks and Pittsburgh Steelers.
Senquez Golson
Golson has a keen sense of being in the right place at the right time and has the skill and instinct to make offenses pay. Golson recorded 10 interceptions last season on his way to a unanimous All-American season. This won't be Golson's first experience with a professional draft, as he was selected by the Boston Red Sox in the 2011 MLB Draft.
Golson's three ideal NFL destinations: Baltimore Ravens, Tennessee Titans and New Orleans Saints.
Other possible late-round selections from the Ole Miss defense include linebacker Detarrian Shackleford, linebacker Serderius Bryant and lineman Byron Bennett.
