Loss of FB Daniel Marx could have a big impact on Stanford
Stanford's No. 15 rushing attack is one of the reasons why the Cardinal are in a position to win the Pac-12 title this season. While Christian McCaffrey's season has been celebrated, the work of fullback Daniel Marx has been nearly as important.
Unfortunately for Stanford, Marx will miss the remainder of the season with what the program is describing a “lower leg injury.”
“It’s tough,” said Stanford head coach David Shaw, per ESPN. “Daniel has had a phenomenal year. This is a guy who is going to play on Sundays. He’s that good — a very versatile football player.”
In his place, Stanford will turn to senior Chris Harrell.
“We have a lot of faith in Chris,” Shaw said. “We have a combination of guys we may use at that position. Chris has prepared as a starter.”
