Louisville Football: Predicting where the Cardinals will be ranked after week 9

We take a look at where the Louisville Football team will land in the new AP Poll that will be released after the weekend.

This was one of the craziest weekends that we have seen all season. It started with the Louisville Football team almost losing to Virginia and ended with a great game between the Florida State Seminoles and the Clemson Tigers. Not to mention, there were four teams that lost inside of the top ten on Saturday.

Louisville was able to survive against the Cavaliers, but it was pretty darn close. If it wasn’t for Lamar Jackson and Jaire Alexander, we may have been all crying right now. However, that didn’t happen and we can now move on with our lives.

Here is how each top ten team fared during week nine:

Nebraska lost a heartbreaking game to Wisconsin on Saturday night in overtime. As normal, there was a pass-interference penalty that was not called on third down in overtime, that would end up being the nail in the coffin for the Huskers.

I don’t expect a close loss on the road to hurt them very much in the polls.

However, Nebraska, Baylor, and West Virginia losing on Saturday could prove to be huge for the Louisville Football team in the College Football Playoff race this season.

Here is our prediction of what the new AP Poll will look like after week 9 of the season:

The Cardinals needed the Utes to find a way to knock off the Huskies this weekend, but that didn’t happen and now we have to hope for a major upset. That was the one game that Washington could have lost and it didn’t happen.

Nebraska should only drop a few spots after a close overtime loss to Wisconsin and the Badgers should also move back into the top ten.

Overall, it was a good weekend for Louisville’s playoff chances. We will see where Louisville stand when the College Football Playoff poll is released on Tuesday night.
