Louisville football was ranked where in this USA Today poll?
A preseason poll was released this morning that was completely off on their projection of the Louisville football team.
Louisville football is currently ranked number 19 in the country in the latest Associated Press Poll. There are a few teams ranked higher than the Cardinals that they can beat any given Saturday. However, 19 is still an okay spot for Louisville. Preseason rankings ultimately turn out to just be opinions, but the Cardinals are definitely better than what this USA Today poll sees of them.
Paul Myerberg from the USA Today had this to say about the poll:
“With just days until the start of the 2016 college football season, here is USA TODAY Sports’ preseason ranking of the entire Football Bowl Subdivision from No. 1 (Alabama) through No. 128 (not Alabama).”
They were definitely not kind to the Cardinals as they were rated at number 28 in the country, dropping out of the top 25. Apparently these writers know more about Louisville than every other person who contributed to a preseason poll this offseason.
Here are the teams that were rated in front of Louisville:
19) Washington
20) Oklahoma State
21) Iowa
22) UNC
23) Florida
24) Georgia
25) Texas
26) Nebraska
27) Wisconsin
Again, this is ultimately an opinionated preseason poll that is way off base. Louisville football could beat any one of the teams that we listed in this article. There is simply zero explanation as to why Louisville would be rated as low as 28th, unless someone didn’t do their homework.
When you rate every football team, 1 to 128, there are going to be errors made in the polling. Louisville is better than 28 and they have an opportunity to show that here in two days.
