Louisville starting QB sits out half after suspension
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) — Louisville starting quarterback Jawon Pass was benched before Saturday's game against North Carolina State for "missing a team obligation," it was announced before the game.
Pass was suspended for the first quarter, according to a school statement, but he didn't play in the second quarter either. He entered the game with 11:03 left in the third quarter.
Louisville was trailing 17-3 at halftime.
Redshirt freshman Malik Cunningham made his second start of the season at quarterback for Louisville. Pass, a sophomore, came into the game having completed 54.3 percent of his passes for 1,893 yards and eight touchdowns.
It was also announced that junior wide receiver Devante Peete and sophomore defensive tackle Michael Boykin would miss the entire game because of team-rule violations.
