LSU vs Florida Game Rescheduled for Nov. 19 in Baton Rouge
After postponing it last week, the LSU vs Florida match-up has been rescheduled. The Tigers and Gators will play Nov. 19 in Baton Rouge.
It looks like the Gators can’t duck the Tigers to win the SEC East after all. In fact, their dirty trick has backfired. LSU vs Florida has been rescheduled at last.
The two schools will play on Nov. 19, according to SEC Sports Online. LSU initially objected to that date because they didn’t want to lose a home game. But the SEC appears to have rectified that.
Officials moved the game from Gainesville to Baton Rouge, which will make this a road game for Florida.
Greg Sankey announced this agreement Thursday afternoon.
The Tigers will play the 2017 game in Gainesville, and then they will play 2018 in Gainesville to return it to a normal schedule after that.
This is huge news for Tennessee. Florida having to travel to Baton Rouge to play the LSU Tigers gives the Vols an even greater chance to get to Atlanta, even if they lose to the Alabama Crimson Tide this weekend.
Another Gators loss is now incredibly likely when they have to play the Razorbacks, Bulldogs, and then the Tigers in Baton Rouge.
Meanwhile, Tennessee is unlikely to lose again after Alabama. So all probabilities point to the Vols now being a near lock to head to the SEC Championship game this year.
Now, it’s all about whether they can get into the College Football Playoff.
Meanwhile, Jeremy Foley’s attempt to duck the LSU vs Florida game and then blame it on LSU has been subverted. The Gators have to play the game now.
